A1　What is a KVM switch?

KVM is the industry term for Keyboard-Video-Mouse. A KVM switch allows single or multiple workstations to control locally or remotely to multiple computers located in server rooms or on the desktop.


A2　What are the applications of KVM switch?

With a KVM switch, you could control many computers from a single monitor, keyboard and mouse. That would eliminate your equipment requirements as well as the power needs. It would also reduce your space requirements by more than half, making control of the server room much easier. Instead of constantly moving from place to place to gain access, you could monitor and control all your computers from a single location.

A3　What is OSD? What is Hot Key Switching?

OSD ( On-screen Display ) is an image superimposed on a screen picture to display information. KVM switches offer many different methods of switching computers. Some models of KVM switch offer an On Screen Display (OSD) with the ability to customize names and select those names for channel switching.
The other way to switch channel is Hot Key switching. It allows you to switch between computers without pushing the buttons on the actual switch. For example, by pressing and releasing the left [CTRL] key twice + dedicated number key, you can easily switch to dedicated channel.


A4　What is DDM? What are the applications and advantages?

DDM is an abbreviation for Dynamic Device Mapping which is a robust technology for USB KVM switches. With our patented DDM (Dynamic Device Mapping) Technology, the communication between shared devices and connected systems is maintained 100% of the time even when switching the shared devices from the controlled systems.

This prevents interruptions in communication between shared devices and connected systems/computers, and reduces wait time when switching KVM ports. As a result, when switching ports there is no more lag time while the computer has to re-recognize the connected devices. DDM technology along with another patented dual-core KVM distribution switching technology has become the most reliable and robust KVM switch core technology in the world.
